Shift Supervisor Production (m/f/d)

Your tasks

Your profile

  • Operational management of the production shift
  • Planning and prioritization of production orders in coordination with Work Preparation/Production Planning and the Production Team Leader
  • Assignment and leadership of the team reporting to them (e.g., surface grinding operators, machining technicians, production assistants)
  • Monitoring machine utilization and ensuring smooth material flow
  • Checking workpieces for dimensional accuracy and surface quality in close coordination with the metrology/measurement room
  • Identifying and resolving disruptions in the production process (technical or organizational)
  • Supporting employees with machine set-ups, tool changes, and process optimization
  • Ensuring order, cleanliness, and compliance with occupational health and safety regulations in the shift area
  • Conducting shift handovers including documentation of ongoing orders, issues, and special occurrences
  • Monitoring production times and contributing to improvements in lead times/throughput times
  • Reporting maintenance and repair needs for machines and tools
  • Supporting training activities and onboarding of new employees
  • Assisting in the implementation of improvement measures and lean activities
  • Completed master craftsman or technician qualification in machining (metal cutting), natural stone processing, or mechanical engineering — alternatively a completed vocational training as a machining mechanic (CNC)
  • Several years of professional experience in machining/metal cutting production, ideally in the field of natural stone or machining technology
  • Solid knowledge of CNC controls (e.g., Siemens 840D)
  • Experience in personnel leadership, ideally in shift operations
  • Strong organizational skills, sense of responsibility, and assertiveness
  • Technical understanding and ability to quickly analyze faults and solve problems
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented working style
  • More than 3 years of experience as a shift supervisor, plus willingness to work shifts and flexibility for changing requirements
  • Skills: MS Office, production planning systems, workforce planning/staff scheduling
  • Basic knowledge of quality management
